Chief of Technology Enablement

Robert Caveney (Bob) joined Brooks Automation in 1983 and, in March 2025, was appointed Chief Technology Enablement Officer. During more than 40 years with Brooks, Bob has held leadership roles spanning machine design, robotics, and advanced technology development, including Director of Robotics, Vice President of Robotics, and Engineering Fellow leading the Advanced Technology team. 

Bob is a key innovator with more than 100 patents and has played a significant role in establishing Brooks as a leader in semiconductor automation, with a focus on vacuum and atmospheric robotics. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with customers to develop technical alignment and deliver advanced automation solutions. 

Bob studied mechanical engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and completed executive management and leadership programs at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
